mydd, market strategy, site privileges

This dairy is just to reasure the Obama supporters that mysteriously can no longer participate in moderating content on this site that it has nothing to do with their behavior.

No, it is all about positioning mydd as the 'antidote' to 'mainstream' liberal blogs.

The Clinton crowd has shown Jerome a way to compete for clicks but the only way his strategy works is by forgetting about that pesky community moderation thingy.

You can quite clearly see that even here at mydd Clinton supporters would have an impossible task maintaining a viable visibility without the intervention of the site administrator.

All that is fine and dandy expect for the dishonesty in the implementation.

To pretend that people haven't behaved up to community standards when their only crime is not to fit into the marketing plan is as dishonest as the arguments the admin has decided will drive viewers to the site

interesting... (2.00 / 3)

"You can quite clearly see that even here at mydd "Clinton supporters would have an impossible task maintaining a viable visibility without the intervention of the site administrator."

sad isnt it?  that one cannot have an online forum that meshes with their political outlook without having to police certain groups.

"To pretend that people haven't behaved up to community standards when their only crime is not to fit into the marketing plan is as dishonest as the arguments the admin has decided will drive viewers to the site"

well in your specific case, i have experienced your personal violation of the site rules....  so i think its sour grapes.  and if you read todd's post yesterday, this diary itself is content-less, save for bashing mydd and therefore in violation of the site rules.

the diary is in fact contentless (2.00 / 1)

but I'd be remiss for not noting that I still haven't gotten an answer as to why my first account here was banned (I tell myself if they give me a good answer, I will either mend my behavior or put the keyboard down). No answer yet.

Re: the diary is in fact contentless (none / 0)

Its sad, but they will never admit it, might dance around it.

You either have two choices, hope that Admin restores all ban and restricted accounts the day HRC officially concedes the race

or

Make a new email address and get a new account (as MANY have done here).

I can live with what happened, but something has to be done soon.

We will only have republican trolls here once our nominee is official.

Re: I try to be honorful enough (none / 0)

I would suggest creating it now,  you can't post for 48 hours.

I hate what the admin did, but in the end I guess I can understand although I don't agree.

But I can't make any logic of people getting restricted for political agendas when that agenda does not exist anymore.

I will give admin credit in that they don't easily ban people, ESPECIALLY republican operatives (remember how long it took to get rid of ChitownDenny?)

I would say most banned probably deserved it, but NOONE ever deserved to lose their right to Rec.

I never heard of the NoQuarter REC trolls getting restricted.

i cant be bothered to look though the comments, but you know exactly what i am talking about....

which brings me to a larger question, why are you here at mydd?  is it that there are no other forums that are inundated with BO supporters?  or that the bullying is equal on both sides here that offends you so?  im am confused why this is so bothersome to you considering that there you are here at this site on your own accord.  as dkos said to HRC supporters "the internet is a big place, i hope you find what you are looking for."  maybe you should take his advice?

many of the smears and innuendo originate.

It is here where long time mydd users that support Obama seem to suffer from battered candidate syndrome and need a little support.

This diary puts the lie to your own argument (2.00 / 1)

which is fascinating in and of itself on the one hand, depressing on the other. Where do you get the nerve to publicly publish something like this which cannot be substantiated on the very site of the people who provide you with the space to do it.

by phoenixdreamz on Wed May 21, 2008 at 04:07:45 PM EST

Re: This diary puts the lie to your own argument (none / 0)

yea sure.

If Obama fans can't recommend diaries, Clinton fans can get a fair shake at the recommended list, is that what you think?

It is not unsubstantiated that Obama supporters have lost recommending abilities when some of the most abusive Clinton supporters can still keep the recommended list 'balanced'.

Phoenix, it has been estabished many times.

I remember there was thread which had a poll that asked how many people experienced this, If I remember right it was almost 50 maybe more.

That is alot of people considering those people were reading it (alot of people lost REC rights and left the site)

Spare me the phony outrage. Its why I left DKos. (none / 0)

I don't even have to know you to know that you are totally full of shit when you claim that diary makes you want to throw up.

Hyperbole much?

Perhaps if the diarist had claimed that Kennedy was an asshole and had it coming to him for supporting Obama over Clinton.  Perhaps that would be "exploiting a tragedy".

But to use current events about Kennedy to spark a conversation about Kennedy's run for POTUS as compared to Clinton's run for POTUS?  That's "exploitation" that "makes you want to throw up thinking about"?

Your point is so mind-numbingly stupid, I can't even put it into words, although, unlike you, I will not lie.  I will freely admit that your bullshit, however annoying and silly it is, does not make stomach acid and the remnants of my lunch rise up my throat.

Re: mydd, market strategy, site privileges (2.00 / 1)

It's a conspiracy! I always get a kick out of these type diaries as well as the so called 'unity' diaries where some of the top abusers of the rules claim 'some' Obama supporters are like that, but not 'ME'. When you look down the list and have been reading MyDD then you can see that most who are claiming to be polite don't know the meaning of the word or those who think they got their rate privilages taken away unfairly have written comments they should have been banned for- not just 'unprivilaged'.
I'm not saying in the big scheme of things for the job of the moderators some mistakes might be made but I don't see any conspiracy.
